Nurturing Spiritual Seeds,

The story of Elijah's challenge on Mount Carmel in 1 Kings 18:36-45 beautifully demonstrates the transformative power of God's presence. In this passage, we see how God's fire and rain brought a profound change in the hearts of the people.

Just as seeds carry the potential to become mighty trees, every word of God holds the promise of spiritual growth. In the parable of the sower in Matthew 13, Jesus illustrates how different types of soil affect the growth of the seed, highlighting the importance of the readiness and receptiveness of our hearts.

At Calvary Chapel, we prioritize the preaching of God's word, believing it to be the most powerful message. When the word is preached, and prophetic words are spoken, the seed is sown in our lives. It's our responsibility to lay claim to the promises, mix our faith with the word, and let it manifest in our lives.

However, revelation alone is not sufficient for true revival. We need the rain of God's presence, the Holy Spirit, to bring the word to life. Zechariah 10:1 reminds us to ask for this divine rain to make our lives fruitful.

In summary, just as rain is vital for the growth of seeds into mighty trees, we need the rain of God's presence in our lives to see His word manifest and experience genuine revival. Let's invite the Holy Spirit to nurture the seeds of His word in our hearts, both individually and as a Pentecostal church in Canberra.
